Novembre à Vitry

Every year since 1969, the Prix international de peinture Novembre à Vitry has brought together hundreds of candidates and awarded two winners. Open to artists up to the age of 40 who propose a body of work focusing on painting, it provides an opportunity to explore all the possibilities of this medium. Renewed painting, in the image of the influences that run through it.

Échos sauvages
Collective exhibition
18.11 – 24.11.24

The exhibition Echos sauvages invites us to an intimate exploration of the natural world, an immersion in the invisible and unexplored. Through the eyes of Valentin Bajolle, Antoine Bataille, Jeanne Held, Thomas Julliot-Decker and Cassandre Lepicard, it reveals the hidden aspects of nature – those elements that we don’t immediately perceive, but which reveal their essence when we know how to wait, observe or dig deeper.

This exhibition is an ode to slowness, to waiting, to gradual unveiling. Each piece becomes a gateway to a wild world that, far from being a romantic vision of nature, confronts us with its complexity. Échos sauvages offers a journey into the invisible and the unexpected, an encounter with living things in all their forms, where observation becomes an act of discovery, respect and deep reconnection with the wild.

0,64 m2
Collective exhibition
12.09 – 14.09.24

Conceived by Noélie Bernard and Orian Arrachart , 0,64 m² is a group exhibition project designed to showcase the visible and invisible links that exist between the practices and thoughts of artists from the non-étoile collective.

50 artists from the collective have been invited to occupy 50 0.64 m² plots at espace nonono. Following the coexistence of their works in a cadastral space, and at the end of a meeting organised during the setting up of the exhibition, each artist is invited to fill in one or more room sheets for the public, highlighting existing and future connections.

Carbone
Solo Exhibition
08 – 21 january 2024

Carbon is common to all known forms of life. It is the fourth most abundant element in the universe and the second most abundant in the human body. The landscapes that Valentin Bajolle creates using charcoal (a tool largely made up of carbon) tell the story of this living matter, in motion, in front of which the viewer is a passing witness.

Whatever the scale chosen to measure, nothing that belongs to the physical world is fixed in time or space. Like charcoal, itself the product of a series of transformations, the works capture the fragment of an ongoing metamorphosis. This metamorphosis takes place over an indefinite interval. Are we witnessing the genesis of something? Is there really a beginning and an end? At what point in the cycle are we?

These forms evolve in a space that extends beyond the paper. They show themselves, protrusions whose origin remains invisible to our eyes, epiphenomena of a parallel nature that it is up to us to explore.
